“Bagyo’s Warning” was created in grief and solidarity for those who have lost their homes, their loved ones, and their sense of safety. I offer this as both prayer and action. May you be met with the courage to demand better from leadership and the compassion and love of a community that refuses to forget you.
Our ancestors believed that a storm deity arrived as a bird who arrived as a sign that the world was out of balance and that leadership needed to change.
Along with climate change, politicians have created “ghost” flood control projects that perpetuate the cycle of corruption that deepens our people’s suffering.
